FLU
Well Aiden didn't sleep well last night, he was up every hour, it was awful, he would all the sudden wake up and cry and he just couldn't get comfortable. Anyways I thought he felt warm yesterday evening like he was running a fever, but I thought maybe it was because he is trying to cut some teeth. Not the case he woke up this morning and he was so hot all over, I took his sleeper off and took his temperature and it was 103.4. I gave him some Tylenol and put him in a cool bath.
I called the Dr and they gave me an appt for 3pm and Josh wasn't happy about that, he was working so I called and told him, he said I should have gotten an earlier appt. Anyways Aiden wouldn't let me put him down and he seemed so weak and just not like himself at all. Well off to the Dr we go and he doesn't get to see a Dr, of course. Well I wasn't very happy needless to say, I ask them if the Flu was going around and she said yes, but she said he probably had a viral infection and she didn't even check him for the Flu and that is what I was concerned about instead she told me I needed to come back in the morning and get him re-checked and then they would check for the Flu, she said he needed to have the symptoms for at least 24 hours for it to show up anyways, so I said ok and out the door I go. They did take his fever when we got there and it was 102.8 and they weighed him he now weighs 16 lbs 12 oz. Next I call Josh and let him know what was said and he said "is that all they said"? I said yes and I have to take him back in the morning. Well we both decided we weren't happy with that. I had Josh to call back up there and he told them he wanted to speak to a real Dr! So he left his message and the Dr called him back and he said to get him up there and he would do the Flu test. I had no longer got home from the office and then we had to get back in the car again and go back to the office. At least my mom had stopped by and brought Aiden some Motrin and some Pedilyte so she went back with me! We get there and he is waiting for Aiden in the room and he swabbed his throat REALLY good and his nose REALLY good and less than a minute later he came in and said "He does have the Flu" He said it showed up instantly. Now tell me why they couldn't have done that the first time we were there and had to wait 40 minutes for a room and then about another 30 for the Nurse Practioner to see him, don't get me wrong they were busy, but still!!! My appt was at 3 pm and I had to sit in the car and wait for them to call my cell phone when a room was ready and that was at 3:40.
Anways enough venting!! I am just glad to know what is wrong with him, they can't give him anything for it because they said he is to young, they said it will have to work its course. He is pitiful though. I have a feeling I am in for another long night, but Josh and myself are taking shifts, he had to work today from 6a-6p so he is asleep right now and a little later on in the morning I will wake him and I will go to sleep. Hopefully Aiden will ge to feeling better soon. Sorry I kept rambling, but I was a little upset with the situation today!! Does anybody else get tired of seeing a PA instead of a Dr all the time??? I know some PA's are wonderful, but I would like to see a Dr sometime!!

I'm so sorry that your little guy has the Flu! I know that's it's miserable on ALL of you when they are sick. Praying that he gets well very soon, and is back happy and playing in no time!
Love, Amy
