Aidens 6 month checkup!

Aiden had his 6 month appt this past Friday January 26th. He had to get two shots, and his cry this time was so pitiful, it was the worst cry yet, but he was fine after a few minutes, it just broke my heart. He weighs 15lbs 8oz and he is 26 3/4 inches long, his still a little thing, but he is growing! The Dr said he looks great! Well we did discuss with the Dr about Aidens bad sleep habits or should I say mommy and daddy's bad sleep habits! We have to walk, rock and cuddle him to sleep and then he is restless after we lay him down, which we lay him beside of our bed in the pack n play, when he was smaller we let him sleep in a bassinet beside our bed, so needless to say he hasn't slept in his crib in his own room since he came home from the Hospital. It's just easier with him beside of me, so if he wakes up I am right there to stick that paci right back in his mouth and he will fall back asleep! LOL Oh well we knew there would come a time when we needed to put him in his own crib, so the Dr made some suggestions and we decided to start Friday night, so we laid him in his crib and he cried for about 25 minutes and then he was fast asleep and that was about 12:15 am and can you believe that little booger slept until 7:30 this morning, I was surprised, he didn't even wake in the middle of the night like he did when he was beside of our bed! I was very surprised.
Now tonight he is sound asleep for now (knocking on wood)in his own crib again, Josh laid him down and he cried for about 5 minutes and then he was out, then he woke up and cried again for about 5 minutes again, Josh went and checked on him to make sure he was ok and he was, so Josh left the room and he fell back asleep. It's kind of sad he don't need me to soothe him to sleep now!! He is getting to be such a big boy! Everybody cross your fingers that he will continue to do good with sleeping in his own bed. Next time he will go to the Dr is in April if all goes well, he will get his 9 month check up, they said no shots next time, I will be looking forward to that visit!
